The RAA SA have produced a short videoto promote vigilance while driving to it’s members (and cyclists). They motoring body sent me a message via Twitter (as did Amber Halliday who supports it). I asked them to put it on YouTube so it could be shared more widely and they did.
I think it is a good balance between making car drivers more aware while still putting responsibility on cyclists.
Did you know that almost 8000 Adelaide residents cycled to work each day in 2009 and that The South Australian Government is aiming to double cycling trips by 2015? With this large increase in cyclists on the road is becoming even more important to stay vigilante so that the roads remain safe for both motorists and cyclists.
RAA supports all forms of transport, including cycling with its Mobility for Life policy which affirms its focus as more than just a motoring body.
