The Ride Journal

The Ride Journal

Blogging is hard let alone who has the time but who has the time to read it all. What’s worse is when something comes along that it really worth reading and I feel guilty and I have to find time to read it along with ‘Where the Wild Things Are‘ and ‘The Gruffalo‘ each night – not to mention the 1st edition of Kon Tiki & I I was just given, Urban Velo, Practical Pedal, Fixed and my new subscription to Bicycling Australia (which thankfully has not arrived yet).

All that… then along comes a link to The Ride journal in my inbox. And there is no shortage of stuff to read in their debut edition – and it’s available for free online as a big chunk of PDF.

Born, as all good things are, out of a conversation over Mexican food and Pacifico beers, The Ride is an all encompassing read. We know that most people who share our obsession with bikes don’t want to be pigeon-holed as roadies, freeriders, track racers, BMXers, XC riders or even commuters. They are just riders.

Pretty much sums it up – all 147 pages of it. It’s well written by it’s contributors (including Greg LeMond) and also looks fantastic with some great images. This is no bedrooms sticky tape and glue fanzine.

Issue 2 is also out but not available as a PDF and apparently issue 1 wont be online for long so snap it up.
