It’s getting chilly.. what to wear
It’s getting cold. Yesterday I used my full fingered gloves for the first time this season. I don’t mind winter because while I like cycling kit I prefer getting about in normal clothes – like jeans. It’s got something to do with the bicycle just being the means of getting somewhere.
Perhaps ‘tweed rides’ are taking casual a bit too far. I was reading this nice piece from ‘Practical Pedal’ blogzine on why I need knickers. By knickers they mean 3/4 length woollen knickerbocker/ pedal pushers.
Knickers for him are “not about resurrecting a tradition,” so much as “taking a bunch of old ones and shoving them together” to meet the needs of contemporary cycling here in the United States. Knickers simplify the relationship between you, your bike and your clothes. They also bring sensible cycle clothing into the realm of daily activity.
Pretty good. I think I can see a trend happening with these. Then there are caps – http://www.rocketfuel.net.au/index.html
