Getting about on two wheels

April 19, 2009

The thing I love, and continues to amaze me, is how far you can get on a bike in a short period of time.

Getting out this weekend in Adelaide in glorious mild sunny autumnal weather for a ride it wasn’t long before I had ridden from home to Magill then up Norton summit and back down to the river. It really is the best time of the year for riding.

Later in the afternoon I took my kids down to Linear Park at St Peters to play on the huge slide that has been there for a few generations. Sitting there watching the  cycling traffic passing by I was facinated by the wide range or bikes passing by. MTB with knobblies, hard & soft tails, flat bars, roadies, oldies, huffys and other sorts of variety store models.  I even saw a Raleigh tandem and three of those kids add on tandems which I’ve been thinking are a good way to go.

It doesn’t matter what you ride if it gets you out and about and make the most of cyling in Adelaide as long as you enjoy it.
